I have worked with over 500 adults moving forward from severe PTSD/trauma. I have extensive experience with sexual trauma, both childhood and adult, combat trauma, and situational/1st responder trauma. I am a certified sexologist, and trained sex therapist. I have worked extensively with military/veterans, and first responders to include dispatchers. I am also a hypnotherapist. We can incorporate hypnosis and relaxation techniques into your therapy. Sex positive, LGBTQ+ affirming. I have experience with clients who have not had a lot of success in treatment. We can discuss some methods that might be surprisingly helpful. My approach is essentially psychodynamic, and I rely on other approaches and effective tools from other approaches. Ultimately the goal, esp with trauma, is memory reconsolidation to work to change the meaning of traumatic experiences. I am a retired, disabled veteran. I take a systemic approach to how maladaptive beliefs have helped us, as well as hurt us, and our families. I have experience with therapy supporting methadone / suboxone assisted recovery from heroin / opioid addiction. I also address religious trauma.
